Convert PDF to Word Without Uploading Your File
PDF to Word is the conversion people most often do on upload websites, and often with the most private documents: contracts, CVs, reports. DIL does it on your own computer instead.
Step by step
- Open DIL and choose PDF to Word.
- Choose your PDF.
- Optional: tick "Also insert a picture of each page that contains images or graphics" if you want photos or charts shown.
- Press Convert to Word, download the .docx file, and open it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.
In DIL: this is part of the full DIL, a one-time purchase. You can also try the free Lite version first.

- DIL rebuilds the document from its text. Headings, paragraphs and simple tables become editable Word content.
- Complex layouts (several columns, forms, text over images) will not match the original exactly. No converter can promise a perfect match.
- Scanned pages are pictures with no text. DIL inserts them as page pictures; it does not read text from pictures (no OCR).
- Always check the result in Word before you send it on.
Questions
Will tables stay as tables?
Simple tables, where columns line up, become Word tables. Complicated tables may need tidying.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
The pages are included as pictures, but the text is not editable because no OCR is included.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser.
